Dunn was a good move for them...Konerko likely wasn't gonna repeat his year...Dunn you could see producing over the duration of the contract.

lol I saw the first 7 years of Adam Dunn's career. Dude has insane power, but is not a clutch hitter, nor should he even play in the field. Dunn get's all his HRs with no men on base and will strike out when it actually matters.

he'll be on a very good offensive team...with guys like Konerko/Quentin/Ramirez around him...I wanna see him with this type of firepower around him.

Im tellin ya he will strike out with runners on base. He hits home runs, he doesn't drive in runs.

Anyone who bats .250/.381/.521 in his career, does not suck. Does Adam Dunn strike out a lot? Yes. Is his defense terrible? Yes. But who gives a shit, Dunn is one of the most consistent guys around, he'll hit a ton of homers and draw a lot of walks. Anyone who thinks that's bad for a team is an idiot. Dunn will probably be worth every penny of his 56 million dollar deal, especially when he's playing DH which will take away most of his negative value.

To be fair, he actually is pretty awful with runners in scoring position throughout his career. (.231 with RISP career, .217 last year).

That being said, he's a decent signing. Nothing earth shattering, and certainly not anything that's likely to push the White Sox over the top or anything. If anything he's a poor man's Jim Thome circa his time with the White Sox.

Definitely, but Thome never had the support of a pitching staff of Gavin Floyd, John Danks, Jake Peavy, Edwin Jackson and Mark Buehrle.
