WFAN's Sweeny Murti reports that Derek Jeter's deal with the Yankees will be for three years and around $51 million.
There's an option for a fourth year that Murti says is for less than the $17 million he'll get on average for the first three years. According to Murti, there are "many elements that will affect (the) final number" of the option. The YES Network's Jack Curry reports that Jeter, as well as Mariano Rivera, have agreed to defer some of the earnings on their new contracts in order to push the deals along. The New York Post's George A. King III says the deal will be finalized Saturday
