    Which rotation is better?

    1993 Braves or 2011 Phillies?

The vaunted foursome of Roy Halladay, Cliff Lee, Roy Oswalt and Cole Hamels "can be as good as anybody's rotation in the history of the game."

    A good article.

And, again, which rotation is better. Not what team is better.

As much as I don't like the Braves, I don't see how their rotation couldn't be considered the greatest ever, especially considering Avery blew his arm out later.

      Just 1993 Seth.

I don't really even know why I talked about Avery blowing his arm out, since I was going with the 93 Braves winning it. Either way, my original thought is that it is definitely the 93 Braves.

If not the greatest, at least top 5.

1993 braves easily. This 2010 Phillies rotation is straight nasty though. I feel bad for the Braves and the rest of the NL East that have to face them the most this year.

I'd like to see how the 2011 Phillies rotation shakes out, but right now I would give the nod to the '93 Braves.

Phils rotation looks awesome but it hasn't done anything yet...so for now I give the edge to the 93 Braves.

Phillies rotation is sick but I'll give the edge to the Braves given that Smoltz, Glavine and Maddux were just entering their prime. Oswalt is a tick past his and Lee might be joining him soon, at 32.

But every time I want to get mad about this I just remember those 1990s staffs we had and how much I took them for granted. Even in sports, what comes around goes around I guess.

Smoltz said on MLBN Hot Stove that the Phillies on paper have the better rotation but they must play out the games. Oswalt had good numbers with the Phillies (7-1), he added some years to his arm just by getting with a team that can score.

Until the Phillies staff actually does something and sustains it for a few years, 1993 Braves are still king

edit: Just saw Ryne's post, Smoltzie agrees

I hate the way ESPN covers shit like this. Hyperboles to the max.

Karl Ravech actually said last night, "I can't think of a scenario where the Phillies are ever going to lose 3-4 games in a row"

                            Really guys... just stop.

They are going to be good but stop with this crap.

Reminds me of the retarded hyperbole guys were spewing after LeBron joined the Heat. "8 straight championships in in play." "I don't think they'll lose more than 10 games all year."
