Yankees Expected to Offer CC a Contract.

Well on sportscenter they've been talking about the Yankees offering CC Sabathia a 144 million dollar contract. I really hope he denies it cause I swear to god if the Yankees make another world series run I'm gonna shoot someone.

Yankees will always have the money and the tradition to bring in top level free agents, which is frustrating as hell. Then again, so does Boston, the Mets, etc.

    Either way, fuck the Yankees...

No its the fact that they spend hundreds of millions of dollars on top free agents and then when they don't win Yankees fans get frustrated. I'm an Orioles fan and I hate the Yankees and the Red Sox.

That's exactly why I don't like the Yankees, Cubs, etc. Why should they get an unfair advantage because they're located ina larger city.

Anyways earlier in the off season the Brewers said that the most they're willing to offer is 4 years $100 million, looks like that's going to be way short

Good, I'd much rather have them sign C.C. Sabathia, who to me, just doesn't seem all that intimidating, than Manny Ramirez, cause that would just suck.

            Stay in LA Manny!!

                lol, 4 years $40 million

                from wikipedia:
The Yankees expected him to be healthy for the 2006 season, but Pavano began the season on the disabled list after bruising his buttocks in a spring training game.
yes, you were right, which is why I want them to sign C.C. (Sox fan)

hopefully CC folds under the pressure in NY, just like he tanked it in the playoffs in '07 when the Indians had the sox down 3-1

This is exactly why I'm in favor of a Salary Cap for baseball.

Teams like the Yankees, Mets, Red Sox, from these huge productive cities with all this money can go out, buy the best people out there and build a championship team (besides the mets, they cannot build a championship team no matter what)

Cano will play better this year, Posada healthy, Swisher is a better bat than Giambi and much better defensively, a more experienced, hungry Gardner anchoring center? I'm really interested to see this team next year without the likes of a very overpaid, inconsistent Sabathia. CC's not better than Johan, so why pay him more?
                      CC is better then Johan

                        calm down, that's IMO.

                        and probably slightly biased.

i actually want too see the Yankees go out and waste all of this money, lock up 3 aging veteran pitchers to long term contracts. When has Burnett ever been consistent? He's always hurt, and the only year he was beast was his contract year. D-Lowe is either on or off, and is always around .500 with his W/L, and Sabathia is going to crumble because of all the wear and tear. When teams like the red sox and phillies are smart, and don't go out and over use money, good Free Agents usually show up, or the farm system comes along.

Beware Yankee fans, this could hurt you in the long run

Sure Sabathia is 27, but he's been a workhorse and has throw 1700 innings since 2001, and has never been consistent with his ERA. likewise, Burnett has only thrown 1400 innings since 99, and only had 1 really good year in 2005, and a good year in 2002. No consistency whatsoever from Burnett. Also 2005 is irrelevant, because that was what 3 years ago,and he's had numerous injuries since then.

Also, Lowe was pitching in the NL West, which is by far the weakest division in baseball. When he was with boston from '03-05, his ERA never got below high 3, and was as high as mid 5. And where is your era theory this year with Lowe, who had a 4.42 away from dodger stadium.

I just don't see Lowe as a good fit in Yankee Stadium. This is also coming from a sox fan whose team is also in the market for Lowe haha
