The Boston Red Sox - Oh you said under rated not underachievers....

Ichiro - know has the big contract but I dont think he gets the love in SEA
Victorino- 5'8 and really much love
Jered Weaver - Angles should have locked him up

Everytime he gains momentum, he gets hurt again. I'm not saying he's a star, but he's a good hitter and a much better glove than whatever numbers you are using give him credit for. Hence, underrated!

He also absolutely murders the Reds, which may cloud my judgement a bit.

Also this guy isn't a star by any means, but Josh Willingham is a solid player. Career 120 OPS+ and gives you decent HR production. Very useful player that nobody really cares much about.
              I miss Josh Willingham

My stupid numbers say he's a career .232/.291/.295 with 1 HR and 20 strikeouts against the Reds....

MURDER! That or his production doesn't show up in the stat sheet. He probably gets his jersey really, really dirty and at least attempts to run out all the ground ball outs he makes.

Why don't you look up the numbers he just put up in the series this week, which is what I was talking about, and was being played when I put him on my list.

Well that's a relatively small sample size, sir.

And to be fair your quote was "He also absolutely murders the Reds, which may cloud my judgement a bit." not specifically detailing the most recent series.

                        Master of semantics here.

Look dude, he was beating up on the Reds when I posted in the thread, and looked pretty damn good doing it. I rmember thinking during the series, shit, this guy is better that I thought, which kinda is the criteria for "underrated".

Anyway, I don't think he's a bum, which is the general concensus. He's always hurt, I think that has derailed him some. With the multitude of little hispanic SS's that bring nothing to the table flaoting around the league, I'll take him.

I wouldn't really say he's underrated though... he's really just not that good. He's probably the sixth or seventh best shortstop (in an absolutely desolate SS pool).

It's hard for me to ever put him into the "underrated" category because of how highly touted he was coming into the league. As you mentioned he has injury concerns but he also has inconsistencies when he's healthy and has some pretty bad Home/Road splits.

Not trying to be a homer but Placido Polanco.

Polanco is underrated for sure. If you eliminate his first few seasons with St. Louis he's had a pretty stellar career.
