April 10th. I'll give him credit where credit is due, however. Today's performance was very good. Only 2K's, but still managed to go over 7 innings. Impressive. O's have a nice young pitching staff lined up for years to come with Britton, Tillman, Arrieta (despite todays schlacking), and Matzus. Add Bergeson into the mix and you have 5 SP's under the age of 25. Young staff that's going to excel in the near fture.

Yeah he's not going to get a lot of K's as a rook, so for fantasy purposes who knows how useful he'll be all season, but he is definitely a stud.

He looks good but I'm trying to keep my hopes and expectations low right now. As an Orioles fan I've seen far too many young pitchers come through, look good at the start, then bomb out once the league adjusts to them. Guys like Daniel Cabrera and Rodrigo Lopez come to mind.

He does look legit though. Shutting down the Rangers lineup is no easy feat.

I'd be happy with that. A win of course goes along with that.

Off the top of my head, Zach Britton is at best the third best rookie pitcher in the league this year. Just sayin'.

If he is getting lucky there are still stats to support that. He's had a rough outing but he's still putting together a good rookie season.

Thanks for posting those Beachy stats. Always good to know that the 7th or 8th best pitcher in the organization is still the best rookie pitcher in the league.

Let it be known that the top two players on that list are on my roster for the keeper league.

Brandon Guyer, just called up from Durham yesterday, hits a 2-run homering in his first major league at-bat. Guyer was acquired by the Rays in the Matt Garza trade.

EDIT: I mentioned this b/c Britton was/is the pitcher ATM.

Or he knows how to pitch out of trouble, or has a good defense behind him. Or he's lucky. Could be any combination of those three.
