      -The Glory Of Their Times

      -Cobb

      -Bill James' Historical Baseball Abstract

All great reads if you want to learn about the history of the game. I will expand my thoughts when I'm at home, I'm not doing lengthy book reviews from my phone.

"Balls" by Greg Nettles. Interesting look into the Yankees of the 70's.

I would have said Moneyball but it's already been said.

There's a new book coming out called "The Extra 2%: How Wall Street Strategies Took a Major League Baseball Team from Worst to First" which is about the Rays 2008 run. Sounds like a good read.

Moneyball and The Yankee Years are the only two baseball books I have read, not including the countless Matt Christopher books and some other book about a kid traveling back in time to stop Shoeless Joe from getting banned. I definitely recommend both of them.

Only book I haven't seen mentioned that I'd recommend is "The Baseball Economist". Especially a good read if you are a stat/sabermetric geek like myself.

I actually have that as well. I stopped by Borders today. Since they are going out of business they had books at 80-90% off. I picked up Bill James 2011 handbook, Baseball Almanac 2011 and Meat Market in the sports section.

I picked up Walter F Mondale: The Good Fight and Obama's Wars as well for $1 a piece. Pretty solid selection of new books still available at this particular location. They are closing down for good on Monday.
