    Verlander pitches 2nd career no-hitter

So far this week we've had two no-hitters, two near perfect games and two other near no-hitters. Is this another year of the pitcher?

Definitely the week of the pitcher if nothing else.

Ugh when are we gonna have the year of the home run hitter?! I mean no no's and perfect games are exciting but i'd love to see another home run race a la McGwire and Sosa. Idgaf if steroids are involved or not. I just wanna see a down to the wire home run battle.

Hate playing against this guy in the Central every year.

Nice to see him get some recognition though.

Verlander has been impressive this year. Maybe this is the year he finally puts himself into Cy Young consideration. He's done pretty much everything else in his career but that and winning a World Series.

                        An asterisk for what?

                        Zero hits = no hitter.

                          * = no-hitter came against 2011 White Sox, perhaps the most overhyped sports team since Dream Team II.

They have been god awful, and perhaps no one has been as invisible this season as Adam Dunn. If anything, he's been the definition of consistency in MLB for the past few seasons, and he's been terrible since switching leagues this year.

When steroids are legalized we'll see another HR battle like Sosa / Big Mac
