Harper Stares at HR, Blows Kiss @ Pitcher

Well, he's just a barrel of sunshine.

    ESPN describes what happened...

Nationals prospect Bryce Harper blew a kiss to the opposing pitcher after hitting a home run in Hagerstown's 3-2 loss to Greensboro in the Class A South Atlantic League.

The Washington Nationals outfield prospect had another of those moments on Monday night, blowing a kiss to the opposing pitcher after hitting a home run in Hagerstown's 3-2 loss to Greensboro in the Class A South Atlantic League.

With the game scoreless in the sixth inning, Harper hit a home run to right-center field and took a few seconds to admire his handiwork from the batters' box before slowly tossing his bat aside and heading to first.

Greensboro pitcher Zach Neal apparently didn't care for Harper's display and let Harper know how he felt as he rounded the bases, according to media reports. Harper replied by puckering up in Neal's direction as he reached home plate.

On Harper's next trip to the plate, with Hagerstown trailing 3-2 in the eighth, Greensboro relief pitcher Grant Dayton backed Harper off the plate with a high and inside first pitch. Harper connected with the second, but his long fly ball was caught at the fence.

"I just missed it by an inch," Harper said, according to the Hagerstown Herald-Mail. "It was a curve up and I just missed it. I thought it was out ... I get it out and it ties the game up and gives us a chance to go extra innings."

Kidroid.....seems like the White coming of Albert Belle.<========= I take this back

Just saw the video of this situation, he did nothing different than what Ryan Howard, Jimmy Rollins, Berkman, Pujols, Bonds have done before. He hit the thing, and slowly walked a few steps and started strolling. The pitcher and the media need to STFU.

There's always one out of 1000 who don't do the walk once they hit a HR, someone like Chase Utley, but even he has swaggered once or twice before.

I have no problem with this kind of stuff, unless you're a huge faggot like Albert Pujols. Dude will bitch all day about people disrespecting the game, and then turn around and hit a home run and act like he just saved the world.

He did a little chop step across home plate, and gob is right, its the same type of stuff that the "classy" (lmao) Cards cry about all of the time.

The problem isn't the fact he watched the HR (I don't like it, but I'm old school), the problem is the kiss.

He's 18, he needs to grow up some and learn to take the high road. No need for that shit.

The kiss is where he fucked up. Staring down home runs is like NBA players crying about fouls to me, happens all the time and is part of the game now. If it was just that, wouldn't be an issue.

He still needs to grow up a little but he's 18, I'm sure he'll get better at handling his emotions.
