Anyone have a cliff notes summary of the difference?

I know that fangraphs uses UZR for position players and FIP for pitchers, and BR doesn't. Some say the over reliance on fielding stats skews FG.

I usually go with FG just because that's what most people use.

      Figured it was fielding related.

I was checking out Brandon Phillips BR page earlier, and noticed they have his fielding WAR as a negative value (-0.1) so far this season, which gave me quite the chuckle. Then I dug deeper and realised that the WAR values differ greatly on each of the sites.

Yeah. Fangraphs uses UZR and BR uses DGS I think.

I've always preferred BR for everything stat related but that's just me.....

Defensive metrics are way way too suspect for me to put a ton of stock into and fangraphs heavy weighting of them into the WAR metric kind of steers me away from it.

Yeah it is suspect...for example they had Luis Castillo's defense being better than Ruben Tejada...and from every Met fan who watched the games, Castillo's range was severely limited, while Tejada had more range. So I already feel it's suspect.
