The best argument IS for the A's, just not the 89 version. Give me Catfish Hunter, Vida Blue, Ken Holtzman, and Blue Moon Odom over the 89 staff anyday. Give me Rollie Fingers pitching 3 innings for a save over Eckersley pitching 2/3 of an inning. Give me Reggie Jackson over Jose Canseco. And the 72-74 A's defense was light years ahead of the 89 A's.

Whitey Ford owned a batting cage/arcade near my house growing up. Occassionally he would be there, yelling at staff and acting all salty. Very grumpy man.Comment

I knew a few people who used to work there back when I was in high school (two years ago) so I would assume it's still there. I'm pretty sure the last time I went there was in 8th grade though, so I don't know if they changed anything recently.Comment
