Ever caught a souvenir at the game?

I went to dozens of games as a kid and I never so much as came close to a foul ball. But my sister who went to like three games in her life somehow came home once with a Chipper Jones home run.

Did you ever get lucky at a ball game when you were a kid? Negative points if you brought a glove.

      So fucking close.

I left to go to the concession stand and a ball landed right where I was sitting. My uncle had a bad knee so he wasn't able to get to it in time, instead some other fucker came from like 3 rows down and managed to get it.

Never went to another game after that.

Never been close at a baseball game.

But I did catch 3 t shirts from the t shirt cannon guy at a K State basketball game once.

Nope but I was at a yankee/met game when i was like 14 and someone hit a foul ball and it hit some douchebag that was on his phone. He dropped the phone and it broke. It was awesome.

No baseballs, but I went to a Ravens - Giants preseason game in Baltimore like 8-10 years ago with like 8 family/friends scattered throughout the stadium. For the second half I sat in the second row on the Ravens sideline with my uncle. When Matt Stover was practicing kicks my Uncle shouted to him, "Matt, once a Giant always a Giant", and he threw us a ball. Twas awesome.

Have plenty. Few home run balls from Oriole Park, but had plenty of foul balls, especially going to Bowie Baysox games (the Orioles AA affiliate.) I remember one day when the stadium was almost empty on a weeknight, I came away with more than 10 foul balls.

Best MLB one was when Albert Belle was with the White Sox. We caught a batting practice frozen rope that might have took 8 seconds to leave the field

I know since this is the internets no one will believe me and that's just fine.

I have a Ryan Braun home run ball he hit at Miller Park in 2008. It was an absolute packed house because it was the first home series of the season (against the Giants) and I was lucky enough to be sitting in a row in the left field bleachers with 4 or 5 seats at the end of the row next to me open. He hit it and I immediately got into the aisle. It went right over my outstretched arm, hit a chair right behind me, and was there for the taking so I jumped on it. Some fat guy tried to wrestle it away from me even though I was laying on top of it. I absolutely couldn't believe it.

I thought I would really see how lucky I was and wait out by the player parking lot to see if I could get him to sign it. One by one players came out and just waved at us as they got into their cars. Braun was one of the last guys to come out 2 hours later and actually came up to the fence to sign stuff. I told him that it was the baseball he hit that afternoon so he signed it as well as inscribed "HR #2 '08" on it. I consider it to be priceless. I have been to probably 50 -60 games since without having a single ball hit near me.

If someone could tell me how to upload pics from my phone I'd gladly post the proof.

^Ryan Braun? 2nd of the 2008 season for him and his 36th career home run. ESPN is like a stalker.

I caught a BP ball hit off the cage from Todd Helton a while back at a Mets game. Got it up on the ball rack along with the one I caught at a minor league all-star game.

I went to a Newark Bears game when I was about 8 years old, sat right behind the Bears' dugout and managed to snag 3 baseballs.

Doesn't really count but at a Yankee game, they had one of those random "if your sitting in row #, you'll win a..." contests and my row won. It was sponsored by Utz chips so I got a big bag of chips and a t-shirt lol.

Also, when I went to the Heat/Lakers game earlier this year I caught a t-shirt from one of those t-shirt cannons.

Three Finger Brown tossed a nasty greaser, and Fred Merkle lined one right to me. The ball was blackened from tobacco spit, but what care of that was mine? O, fine day! Well worth the nickle spent. This was a few years before Merkle's famous boner, and what a boner it was.
