What happens when another coach dies from a foul ball while wearing a helmet? Will we require suits of armor? Dumb, over reactionary nonsense.

I'm waiting for a fielder to catch one in the dome and die. They'll probably stick helmets on those guys, too.

But yeah, dropping down a bunt to break up a no-no is bush league. Don't care if that's your offensive game or not, don't fucking pull that shit on the opposing pitcher, you'd hate to see it happen to your own guy.

That's not a very good reason.

It's not like self consumed asshole batters who stare for hours at their home runs use that line of thinking.

Sure you hate seeing that happen to your own guy, but who wants to be no hit? Its the pitchers job to play the field too, deal with the bunt, throw him out, no problemo.

So just continue to do what wasn't working for the past 7 innings? The defense was playing too far back against a speedy player, that's exactly how your supposed to play that situation if your Aybar. Not Verlanders fault that he bounced the throw to first base.

Exactly. Verlander is the one who messed the play up, he had a great shot to throw 'em out.

No, you grow a sack and try to get a real hit, like a few batters later when Macier Izturis lined one to left for a single.

If Aybar doesn't lay down the bunt there Verlander probably induces the ground ball out from him and perhaps rolls onto his no-no. Maybe we don't even get to see Izturis "man up" because the Angels go down in order.

Also it was a three run game and was just a one run game before Guillen decided to act a fool after his homer. Mike Scoscia is someone who has used the bunt as an offensive weapon before that game and will continue to after, and when he called for it this time it sparked a rally that put his team within one.

Anaheim is in a pennant race with Texas that is going to go down to the last day. I'm pretty sure Arte Moreno is paying him to do more than tell players to "go out there and man up and swing the bat" but I could be wrong. I know I care a lot more about my team winning the game than I do about giving Justin Verlander another no hitter to tell his grandkids about while he's bouncing them on his knee.

I'm sure if the Tigers were playing the Braves you'd be just fine with whatever it took to put your favorite team in position to win the game whether or not it's in accordance with the unwritten rules.
Please don't even try to go against this NAHSTE. To put it in better terms, if Michael Bourn bunted to break up a Roy Halladay no hitter in the 8th inning, I would be seeing this "5.6 bsr "

Does anyone really give a shit? It was all entertaining and fun to watch. Shit like this is just what happens in baseball, nothing wrong with it.

Nah I would still think it was bush league. Plus we all know Bourn would hit a stand up triple over Hunter Pence's head.

Really? Hmmm ... I kind of had the Rangers. They did a great improvement of their bullpen. With that offense I think its enough to get them there.

Weaver came off as a bad ass IMO. At least he has the balls to back up his shit talking, and throw for their heads. If it was Chris Carpenter he would still be bitching today, but he never would have had the balls to do anything about it.

Weaver pitches in the American League and doesn't have to hit... not that tough to be a bad ass.

I bet he'd still be able to thrash Weaver like the little shit he is.
