This Is Why The Cardinals Are WLBs

My problem with LaRussa is he took offense to an unintentional pitch that hit his guy "up near the head" (his words), so in typical hypocritical TLR fashion, he orders his guy to throw not one, but two, INTENTIONAL pitches near Braun's head. He brushed him back once, that should have been the end of it.
Now if your guy gets plunked on purpose, that's another story. But this idea that the Cardinals have, where they seem to think teams aren't allowed to throw up and in to Pujols, is ridiculous and is what the worlds biggest hypocrite was insinuating after the game, when that reporter basically made him look like a moron.Comment

LaRussa is arrogant and a hypocrite at times, I won't disagree. However, regardless of what LaRussa said after the game, the purpose wasn't just to send a message, it was to hit Braun. After Motte missed the first time, he threw a him again, as expected. And I disagree that Motte was throwing at Braun's head. The first attempt was just above the belt, and the second attempt hit Braun in the shoulder, probably a little higher than he hoped to hit him.
Teams can throw up and it to Pujols all they want, but if they miss too far high and up, their star player should be prepared to pay the price, intentional or not. Throwing inside is one thing, throwing up and in is another story because that's how guys get seriously injured.Comment

.
The first pitch was belt high. The second pitch hit him in the mid to upper back.
I don't think Motte had any intention of throwing at Braun's head...or anywhere near it. I have to think if Braun had his head thrown at twice he would have reacted more outwardly.Comment

Wolf should just plunk the Cardinals in order today for how many times they pitched up and in last night.Comment

How does he even know what the announcers are saying, and why does he give a shit? Does he have somebody on staff listening to the broadcasts? Seriously, is he that insane? What a hyper sensative weirdo.Comment

I was at the game last night. Such a great game even with the loss. I'm hard-pressed to remember Lambeau field even booing that loud in a situation like Miller Park did after Braun got thrown at the 2nd time.
Believe what you want, but the Cardinals truly are bitches. TLR and Mike Quade the two biggest whiners in all of baseball.Comment

TLR was abysmal today.
7-4 game, runners on 2nd & 3rd with nobody out, and he leaves Edwin Jackson (who was getting rocked and already gave up 7 runs) in to bat. Of course Jackson makes an out with a completely unproductive AB, and the Cardinals squander a potential big inning by only getting one run.
Of course, Jackson goes back out and continues to get bombed, giving up three more runs as the Cards lose 10-5. TLR leaves him out there to get shelled for 7 innings, over 120 pitches.
I'd be steaming if I was a Cards fan today.Comment

I have no problem with the Cardinals hitting Braun. I understand the frustration of getting your star player hit in the wrist area that could cause some damage.
But sometimes, pitches get away. It's baseball, it happens. In order to get great hitters out, you need to pitch them up and in. Heck, Pujols was something like 1-14 in the 3 game series and they did it by pitching up and in to jam him.
Whatever, it's over. Brewers took 2/3 and they were a foot away from probably sweeping the Cardinals. I hope they don't get into a bean war, because the last thing the Brewers need is some suspensions.Comment
