When was the last time a manager has been traded? Anyway, the White Sox are better off. Gonna enjoy having Ozzie in the division though, he's hilarious.

He's probably better off managing in the NL, the way fedex describes his style.

After compiling a 40–28 win-loss record (including playoffs) in four seasons with the Raiders, Gruden replaced the fired Tony Dungy as head coach of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 2002, via a high-stakes trade that included Tampa Bay's 2002 and 2003 first-round draft picks, 2002 and 2004 second-round draft picks, and $8 million in cash.
          This is quite bizarre.

I wonder if the Braves should look into the trade market for a managerial upgrade.

Remember the Ozzie for Mike Stanton rumor from last year. I bet Fedex died a little inside when that didn't happen.

I fully expect Ryne Sandberg to be going to Chicago...

The 2012 battle for worst MLB manager, right here in the NL East. Should be fun.

Ozzie is a perfect match for Miami with a fresh start. Sure, he'll probably wear out his welcome with the owner before too long, but it'll be entertaining.

I think the Packers were compensated for Holmgren from Seattle as well as BB from New England to New York?

                        Can't recall exactly.

Not officially a trade, but assets were possibly exchanged there.

I think the Jets got the draft pick that ended up being Shaun Ellis when BB went to the Pats. But that was forced compensation by the league.

Yeah it's not a pure trade the same way Gruden was.

Basically to prevent the obvious tampering that was going on on both ends they've agreed upon compensation. White Sox buy out the last year of Ozzie's deal and in turn the team that he manages next year (quite obviously Marlins) they owe the White Sox compensation.

Overall good riddance, definitely needs to be in the NL and not bunting and moving runners over in the best home run hitter's park in the American League. He did a lot right for the White Sox but over the years he did far more wrong. Bad lineup decisions, sticking with mediocre/veteran players too long, calling out/benching younger players, mind numbling dumb in-game decisions, etc. He's really good with bullpens and should do alright for himself in the NL.

Although some of these guys may have never panned out he really, really damaged the careers of Brian Anderson, Josh Fields and nearly tried to do the same with Dayan Viciedo.

Lou Pinella was traded to the Rays back in like 2002.
