**The Official Keeping the Phillies Fans off the Ledge Thread***

Look, I respect the hell out of the Cardinals. They made a great run in September and have done a tremendous job taking this series to a fifth game.

But Roy Halladay was brought in here 2 years ago specifically for this spot. I expect nothing less than a stellar performance from him.

As far as our lineup goes, Rollins and Utley have been hitting the entire series. As bad as Howard has been, he has had big hits in the playoffs in the past and I think he will tomorrow night.

And as bad as Ibanez has been at times this year, that's how good he's looked in big situations this year.

It's funny because everyone talks about all the missed opportunities we had to end this series in St. Louis. What about St Louis?

Have we forgotten about game 3? There shouldn't even be a game 5. Garcia was slicing through our lineup for 6 2/3 innings. Hamels was out, things were looking good for them until he hung an offspeed pitch Francisco deposited over the left field wall. They left 14 batters on base, and lost their opportunity to close this series out at home.

They had the series in their hands and now they gotta come here and beat Roy Halladay. I'm not making any predictions, but I feel confident going into tomorrow night.

Yovani Gallardo owns the cardinals and Ryan Braun is Wisconsin's savior.

Brett Favre is Wisconsin's savior. Ask him, he'll tell you...

Really, I just want the Phillies to want it as much as I want them to want it. I'm sick of them, after last year and now this year, coming out and just having this "just don't give a fuck" attitude, despite what they say to the press. Just go out and fucking play you brats.

All of that said, I am far from capable of really bitching about them because for the majority of my life they were absolute shit and I would have NEVER imagined them being able to win 5 straight NL Easts.

If Halladay cannot secure game 5, it would be a major blow to the franchise. Like you said shag, he was acquired exactly for this situation and nothing else.

          With that said....GO CARDINALS~!

I think that Halladay will be great, just like he was in game 1. The thing about this game is though, he can't have that weird first inning, because the Phils hitters clearly don't give a fuck right now and you can't trust that they can score more than 3 (if that). So, almost unfortunately for him, he has to come out and be perfect.

Fortunately for him, he is a cyborg.

Still, I don't know if I agree with the blow to the franchise thing. Halladay did not blow this series if he loses this game. If anything, Cliff Lee did if you have to blame a pitcher.

The Cardinals had no business winning game 2, and the Phillies had no business winning game 3. Baseball has a funny way of evening things out like that.

I'm expecting a low scoring game tomorrow. My prediction is a 2-1 game. Not going to predict a winner. Cardinals have a better lineup top-to-bottom; Phillies have the better arm going. I expect Carpenter to be just as good as Halladay tomorrow, but there's not question that Halladay is the best pitcher in the National League. One thing's for sure, I'm not going to sleep well tonight.

100% agree, I was just pointing out that the Phillies aren't alone as far as kicking themselves for not ending this series before tonight.

The Cardinals are the hottest team in baseball, but I'd be lying if I said I thought this series was going 5 games. I haven't seen or followed the Cards a lot in the last month, but watching them in this series tells me whoever wins tonight will win the pennant.

It's going to be a hell of a game. I can't fucking wait for tonight!

If someone told me that Halladay would pitch 8 innings, strike out 7, and only allow 1 run (not 1 earned run, 1 run total), I would say the Phillies one and bet my savings on it. He didn't get any support out there.

The Phillies hitting philosophy makes any pitcher look like atleast a top 3 guy in a rotation.

3 FUCKING HITS!?!?! In a NLDS Game 5?!?! I still can't fathom how Ibanez's blast ended up 2 feet short?!?! Same with Utley's in the 9th.

I am in the area for the weekend, so went to a local bar where I grew, I ended up turning off the TV myself when they started the post game interviews and walked out. Disgusted.

Don't even know what to say or where to begin, although I thought I could hear EmpireWF laughing after Howard grounded out weakly to 2nd base and hurt himself runnimg down the first baseline.

Congrats to the Cardinals, the better team won and I will stick with my prediction that the winner of this series will win the pennant.

Good luck guys, fuck the Brewers...
