I think people are waiting for the free agent market to settle on Jurrgens. However, he also has some injury concern, and the Braves have a plethora of young options on the immediate horizon. People know they want to trade Jurrgens and that is hurting his value. Jurrgens might carry more value in July than right now.

Athletics trade pieces, Rangers looking at extensions
The latest out of the AL West:
The Athletics' asking price for Andrew Bailey is currently too high for the Rangers to consider him, tweets Jeff Wilson of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram. The Rangers' read on Bailey matches up with comments made by A's GM Billy Beane yesterday -- he said many teams he'd talked to walked away wondering whether any A's were actually available, as Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle writes.
Within Slusser's piece, she writes that the Athletics are considering Conor Jackson as a short-term outfield addition.
The Athletics are looking for young, high-upside outfielders in any Gio Gonzalez trade, tweets Joel Sherman of the New York Post. The Yankees may have to consider a three-team deal if they want to acquire the lefty, since they don't have any outfielders in the high minors that fit that bill.
Nothing is imminent, but ESPN.com's Jerry Crasnick tweets the Rangers are looking into possible contract extensions for many of their core players, including Josh Hamilton, Nelson Cruz, Ian Kinsler, and Mike Napoli.
3:23pm: The Twins are meeting with Cuddyer's agent today, tweets Jon Paul Morosi of FOX Sports, and seek resolution on their offer.
10:25am: The Twins offered Michael Cuddyer a three-year, $25MM deal, tweets Jon Heyman of MLB Network. Josh Willingham is viewed as a back-up plan.
Joel Sherman of the New York Post is getting a strong feeling the Mets are closing in on a late-inning relief type, other than Francisco Cordero. Andy Martino of the New York Daily News hears the same, and says to think Frank Francisco, Jon Rauch, and Brad Lidge types. Martino thinks a deal could happen tonight. Alderson told reporters the Mets are more likely to sign two lesser-priced relievers than one expensive guy.
The Mets will probably send someone to see Joel Zumaya throw next week, tweets Sherman.
Alderson will meet with Scott Boras today, though he told reporters Francisco Rodriguez is unlikely.
The Mets' five or so top prospects will not be traded, Alderson told reporters including Rubin.
The Mets have interest in bringing 40-year-old righty Miguel Batista back, tweets Jon Paul Morosi of FOX Sports.Comment

Too bad...Braves could of had a nice haul for him.
I wonder what they will do at SS. They have to get a vet to fill in until Pastornicky (spelling) is ready..although..he did very well in the upper minors last year.Comment

Yeah you're right. They should have dealt him this past season before he was hurt. His Pre AS numbers were great.

Lol look at Hanley being a little bitch.
Move from SS where I'm really bad to make room for a guy who is pretty good.
What an idiot.Comment

I understand if the team was asking Ramirez to move for a player like Cesar Izturis. But this is Jose Reyes, a great fielder and great top of the order hitter. No way would I be going public with that complaint.Comment

Brewers are "favorites" to sign A-Ram according to his agent.
He said A-Ram likes the pitching the Brewers have and he feels they can contend and make it to the playoffs. Also his family lives in Chicago and wants to stay near his family and Milwaukee is only 90 miles north of Chicago so they have that working in their favor as well.
Brewers #1 target right now is Jimmy Rollins and if they can't sign Rollins, they will turn to A-Ram and then focus on either Alex Gonzalez, Yuniesky Betancourt or maybe Furcal at SS.Comment

NL Central Report- MLBTradeRumors
Carlos Lee's limited no-trade clause supersedes his ten-and-five rights, according to MLB.com's Brian McTaggart (on Twitter). The Astros have reportedly been telling teams they'll eat half of Lee's salary in a trade.
The Brewers have talked to Yuniesky Betancourt's agent about bringing the shortstop back, but haven't made an offer, tweets Tom Haudricourt of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.
In a piece for Baseball America, Haudricourt explains why Brewers GM Doug Melvin was baseball's top executive in 2011.
Manager Dale Sveum says the Cubs haven't talked about bidding on Yu Darvish, tweets Yahoo's Steve Henson.Comment

Sanchez or Ramirez will come into play for the pitcher, if that is the case. I still think they will end up with Mark Buerhle as well.Comment
