    Bud Selig sucks.

    @jimcallisBA Jim Callis
    By my calculations, TWENTY teams went 16% or more over slot this year, which would have triggered 100% tax & loss of two 1st-rders #mlbdraft

      HGH testing will go through a trial phase this spring.

      Elias rankings system for free agents has been eliminated.

      Best additions.

          I really, really hate balanced leagues and interleague every day.

          I really, really love the extra playoff team and the one game sudden death wild card playoff.

          None of the rest matters to me enough to have a strong opinion.

            As a Reds fan the other stuff should matter to you.

            Aroldis Chapman didn't sign with the Reds because he loved the city of Cincinnati.

              Are you referring to the international spending cap?

              If the Yankees wanted Chapman bad enough, they would have signed him. I can't get wrapped up in that. The Reds were always at a disadvantage, and will always be at a disadvantage. What really changes? The big market teams usually land these guys anyway.

              As for the draft changes, I think you guys are approaching this the wrong way. Yes, there will be less talent choosing baseball. So yes, the top of the draft will have less talented players. But this also means the rest of the draft will have less talented players, too. That all trickles down. It's all relative. The bad teams will still get the best players in the pool, and as a bonus, now they don't have to pay through the ass to sign them. So slotting through a spending cap is good, imo.

              Personally, i'd rather see the Reds able to resign a useful FA no longer under team control (like, say, a Bill Bray type) than be forced to let him walk because they invested so heavily in Yonder Alonso or Devin Mesoraco or whoever else just to get them signed in the first place. Now, these guys are locked up anyway though the arbi years, and you can put that money towards other places.

                  Depends what team drafts him really and what they are willing to invest in him.
