      Should have been Bautista.

Don't like it. He was great, don't get me wrong. But Ellsbury should have won it. Top 5 in the AL in HR, runs, SB, AVG, and 6th in HRs. 30+ HR and 105 RBI as a leadoff hitter. Gold Glove. Didn't drop off like Jose did. Verlander was good, but how much better was he than Kershaw who isn't getting any talk of being the NL MVP frontrunner, or much talk at all for that award? 3 wins (which says more about the Dodgers offense), 2 Ks, .06 WHIP, and Kershaw had the better ERA. Ellsbury lost this because his team fell apart and didn't make the playoffs. He was a stud, but their pitching fell apart.

I don't agree with a pitcher winning the MVP, especially with how strong the rest of the field was with Ellsbury and Bautista. I just don't see how you can give an MVP award to a player who only plays in 30 some games in the season. Just my 2 cents.

Unless the pitcher is having an absurd mindblowing season, gtfo of the MVP race.

He was the best pitcher, not the most valuable player.

Sucks bad for Joey Bats, but I dont got a big problem with it.

I don't have a problem with it. The unanimous voting is surprising though.

The person who had Michael Young as #2 should be burned at a stake.

Initially I had a problem with it but I'm leaning towards it being okay. Verlander was beastly this year and all value stats show him as being the most valuable.

I was in the "he's only in one every five games" but his effect in those five games is so profound that it ends up accounting for better value through the whole year.

But position players only hit once every nine at bats!

I'm OK with this, especially by true definition of the award. Not sure if I would have voted for him, but i'm not offended by it.
