Who Jumps first? Glen or Woy? Pujols AND CJ to the Angels!
The AL West is going to be one heck of a division for next year. Athletics will also make a good accounting for themselves with their pitching staff, but the Angels/Rangers is going to be a huge matchup.
I'll have more comments later, as I'm on break at work right now.
CJ Wilson to the Angels....Arte Moreno has waited years to make his big moves in free agency. This is finally that year.
Lefty C.J. Wilson will join Albert Pujols in Los Angeles, as the Angels continue a surprising free agent spending spree. The Halos completed a deal with Wilson today, an executive who spoke to the team told Joel Sherman of the New York Post.
Wilson, a 31-year-old Fountain Valley, California native, posted a 2.94 ERA, 8.3 K/9, 3.0 BB/9, 0.64 HR/9, and 49.3% groundball rate in 223 1/3 innings this year. He added another 28 innings in the postseason. Including the playoffs, Wilson has tallied a massive 479 2/3 innings over 76 starts since being converted back to a starter in 2010
He's one of the hardest players to get behind I've ever encountered. I went to back to back games this year and in the first game Wells was 3-4 with a HR and the game tying double and people were chanting his name...
The next night he struck out three times, including the last AB of the game, and I thought there was going to be a riot.

This REALLY sucks, but considering the numbers I can't particularly fault Pujols or St. Louis. I just hope that Cardinals have a plan in place to make his departure easier to swallow.
Goodbye, sweet prince. Thanks for the memories.

10 year deal at age 32 is super risky, but if you're gonna do it anywhere then an AL team in a warm-weather environment is the best case scenario. He'll be able to DH a bunch and get more years out of those legs. I think Wilson will do really well for the Angels too.
I'm a Dodger fan first and foremost but I'm happy as hell to see the Angels do well. I'm happy to see Pujols leave St. Louis, too. He's already given that city MVP awards and WS Championships. He didn't owe them anything, they should be glad for bargain years they got out of him originally.
I'm curious now to see what the Angels do with Trumbo and Morales. Keep them? If either can learn to play third they can have a DH/3B/1B rotation. Trade one?
