So after his age 32 or 33 seasons, right when he starts to become a liability at first base.

Yeah that is a pretty solid trio provided Prince ends up in Baltimore. Adam Lind and Casey Kotchmann on the other hand?

I will once again put a lineup up for the Orioles that would include Fielder. I'll hate myself for it once he signs elsewhere, but oh well.

          2B: Brian Roberts
          SS: JJ Hardy
          RF: Nick Markakis
          1B: Prince Fielder
          CF: Adam Jones
          C: Matt Wieters
          3B: Mark Reynolds
          DH: Chris Davis
          LF: Nolan Reimold

You could also see Luke Scott back and playing LF or DH at times. If Roberts is still out with injury, you just move everyone up in the lineup and Robert Andino hits ninth and starts at second, provided he isn't traded.

Uh ... becomes a liability at first base? What is he now?
The king was shaken. He went up to the room over the gateway and wept.
As he went, he said: "O my son Absalom! My son, my son Absalom!
If only I had died instead of you
O Absalom, my son, my son!"

10 years is a long time to give a guy that will be the worst contract in baseball over the last 3 years of that contract, presumably.

Ol boy would put up 07/08 Markakis numbers if he had a big bopper like Prince behind him.

Unless he's got Fielder hitting behind him. Markakis has never had that kind of bat hit behind him. He's a good contact hitter and a great fielder, but is the kind of hitter that needs someone behind him so he can get pitches to hit.

He's a prototypical #2 hitter, but the Orioles have relied on him to do more in the offense and he just isn't that kind of bat. We also overpaid him because he's the face of the franchise right now and the team could not have risked that backlash.

I think you guys are overstating the value of lineup protection.

Baseball executives A.J. Hinch and Kenny Williams each batted around .219 in their big league careers.  That may help you …

$153MM over six years might allow Boras to save face, claiming the second-highest average annual value in baseball history even if it'd mean falling well short of the $200MM landmark. Obviously, $180MM over seven years would be better and isn't crazy, while an opt-out could sweeten the deal for Fielder and let him hit free agency again as a 30-year-old. As MLB.com's Richard Justice notes, the market for Fielder is plain mysterious at this point. If there's an obvious candidate to vastly overpay for Fielder, they've yet to be revealed. The Orioles, Mariners, and Cubs are in the mix to some extent. Jon Heyman of CBS Sports has recently mentioned the Nationals and Rangers, though those teams are viewed as unlikely by other reporters. The Cubs and Mariners remain the current favorites.
153 Million for six years? Seriously? Thats more than Pujols got ...

Clarification: Thats more than Pujols got per year. Obviously, 153 million is less than 250 million .... even the dumb jarhead knows that :D

He got stuck in a very weird spot. What he should do is just sign a big one year deal then try again this offseason. Right now, there's not really a big destination to go for the money he wants. I see him in either Toronto or Washington before too long.

I saw that it is very unlikely he goes to Washington at this point, so I have no idea where his market is now

Saw on twitter today that Milwaukee offered to take him back for a 1-year deal, and then he could take a mega-offer from the new Dodgers ownership next offseason.

Boras did not go for it, according to the source.
