3-20 this spring...with two of those hits coming in his first game.
Doug Melvin names him the opening day starter in CF.
Spring training #s are pretty meaningless. His approach looked good in the one game I saw, showed a lot more plate discipline than his reputation suggests. I'm skeptical he can play CF every day but I have actually raised my expectations slightly for his bat. I think he'll be a .265/20 HR guy, which will definitely play up the middle if he can indeed hang there.

Given that Coco Crisp is signed to a one year deal, I would play Cespedes in left this year just to get him acclimated to things. Just my opinion- I wouldn't want to put too much pressure on him in his first season.
