    Rate My Fantasy Team Thread

Won't be as popular as the NFL one, but wanted people's thoughts on my fantasy baseball auction team that I drafted in Hustlin Owl's league. If you want someone to rate a team post it in here.

14 teams, 29 man roster, $320 cap and this is what I ended up with:

    C - Joe Mauer, $30
    C - John Baker, $2
    1B - Carlos Pena, $16
    2B - Placido Polanco, $4
    3B - Evan Longoria, $38
    SS - Jose Reyes, $46
Corner INF - Gaby Sanchez, $1
Middle INF - Emmanuel Burris, $1
    OF - Jermaine Dye, $13
    OF - Pat Burrell, $12
    OF - Brad Hawpe, $10
    OF - Ben Francisco, $1
    OF - Juan Pierre, $1
    UTIL - Adam Lind, $2
    SP - Jake Peavy, $34
    SP - Francisco Liriano, $17
    SP - Scott Kazmir, $17
    SP - Adam Wainright, $12
    SP - Paul Maholm, $1
    CL - Carlos Marmol, $28
    CL - Bobby Jenks, $15
    CL - Chris Ray, $2
    CL - Frank Francisco, $1
SP - Phil Hughes, $1 (DL)
SP - Ben Sheets, $1 (DL)
    C - Nick Hundley, $1
    OF - Franklin Gutierrez, $1
    2B - Chris Getz, $1
    MR - Rafael Soriano, $2

Overpaid for a couple, underpaid for a couple. Standard auction, I feel. Tried taking guys like Polanco and Mauer to balance out the average of guys like Burrell and Pena. Was lacking HR's so I had to snag Dye/Burrell/Pena all at once as they were the three big power hitters left.

Four closers for now in a 14 team league makes me happy, but those positions are always shuffling. Also think I should be fine with steals w/ Reyes and Pierre, but we'll see.

6.5 out of 10, good all-around team, but not the greatest. Wagner is done for the season too.

          1. 7 out of 10, great youth with guys who can breakout anytime along with solid pitchers.
          2. 8.5 out of 10, very talented team with sick batters, but you need some better pitching.

Got offered a couple trades......could use some input please. :D

              Joe Mauer

              for

              Russel Martin
              BJ Upton

              and

              Justin Morneau

              for

              Kevin Youkilis

              thoughts?

I kinda like the first one as I feel it'll be a down year for Mauer and Martin is going to breakout......but I could be blowing smoke ...

p.s. thanks for the tip on Wagner. dropped him and picked up JP Howell. he's looked good in the WBC so far.

Keep Morneau, bad trade on the second one.

Killgod, care to join VSN Fantasy Baseball league?
Yeah I thought it was decent. I'm kinda loaded at OF but should give me some trading flexibility in case I need more depth at pitching.

Gonna take that one, passing on the other as mainly cause Morneau is a Canuck and Youk is a fucking douchebag.

Yeah I may join......i'll look at the thread for info.

WOW, i love marmol, but $28??? (!!!!!!!!!) gregg could very easily get that job, pinella is capable of making that decision here. bad at 2B, terrible at INF spots and i'm not a fan of pena at all. OF is weak, you're going to have trouble on offense

good staff though. you'll compete in pitching.

                    wat.

killgod... if you got offered Upton and Martin for Mauer accept immediately. Upton alone is far more valuable than Mauer. if i had to put money down i'd bet on martin having a better year between the two catchers. Mauer is already having some trouble with injuries and isn't exactly known as durable.

...if it was just Upton for Mauer, i'd hit accept immediately

look to improve your RP/CL. Bj Ryan might lose his closers job.

kman your team is primed to fail

your starting rotation is way too risky
the only sure thing you have is haren
hernandez and gallardo are both good k pitchers but gallardos an injury risk and hernandez is shaky every year

your hitting is great though, and youve got some good speed (kemp, reyes, victorino, jones)

dont worry about rp/cp, you should never pay for saves, youre bound to pick someone up who will get some saves, closers lose their jobs every year

just focus on improving that sp, trade either hernandez or gallardo (id say hernandez personally, more people want to have buttsecks with him) and get a nice productive starter where you know what youre going to to get (mark buehrle type)
