    Your All-Childhood Team

    Rules:

-1 position player per position from any team, DH is optional
-let's define "childhood" as ages 5-18.

Here's my team. Some are my just pesonal faves, and some are just who I think of when I think of that era and position.

    C

    1B

    2B

    3B

    SS

    LF

    CF

    RF

Without a traditional leadoff guy, I think this lineup would struggle. Just kidding, we'd slug teams to death.

Nice, I knew MvP would go with the showdown cards. I found a few but didn't want to steal the thunder since I never played.

Did Expos Vlad really have an 11 on-base or was that a photoshop?

In the Showdown 2001 set, there were only two 11 on-base players: Jason Giambi and Carlos Delgado. The 2002 and beyond sets they changed the formula so there were plenty of players that had 11 on-base or higher. Barry Bonds had a 16 on-base in the 2003 set, which was absurd.

I played way too much Showdown as a kid.

Possibly the greatest player interview clip ever. I am very sad that I can no longer find the audio. All the links are dead.
