The Tigers have now guaranteed $338 million for the upcoming years to three 1B/DH types in Fielder, Cabrera and Martinez.

I'm not convinced at all about Miggy at third. They're going to try it but I doubt it works.

Also, I have to wonder if part of the reason Prince came to Detroit was to out do his dad. I read that when he hit 50 homers a few years ago, he said he wanted to get 52 because his dad got 51. They don't have a good relationship at all so he might be coming here to try and out perform his dad.

Well, at least it's not Carlos Lee, Brett Wallace, and Jack Cust.

Better then Albert Pujols, Vernon Wells, and Morales/Trumbo. Cheaper too.

Assuming he's talking about the Tigers trio, I'd rather have Miggy/Prince/V-Mart than Pujols/blackhole/blackhole

I think the Pujols contract will be worse at the end.

With that said, i'm pumped if i'm a fan of either team, win now, worry later.
Pujols is on the decline, but he'll still be a helluva bat until he basically dies.

Yeah, I thought he was talking about Houston's collection of immobile DH's.

Perfect. All I wanted was for him to get out of the NL Central, but he's completely out of the league! I'm glad I can still root for him.

At least he doesn't clog the bases, so you gotta give it to him for that.

Oh, of course. Pujols is already showing signs of slowing down. His slowing down is better than most players primes, but there is no way he will be worth his contract in a few years. I give him half of that contract, five years, until he is really slowing down. Sad part is, there is still another 5 years after that.

Miguel Cabrera told a Venezuelan newspaper that he's moving to third base to accommodate the Detroit Tigers' newest slugger, first baseman Prince Fielder.

"It was something we were talking [about at the Tigers'] fan fest [last week]. Return to third base, that is my natural position," Cabrera told Lider en Deportes. "Fielder's arrival will benefit us."

This should be a fun disaster to watch. At least they will be able to score runs.
