HOLY SHIT, I just looked up Michael Young's numbers, my god he fell off of a cliff this year. One of the more drastic and steep declines i've ever seen. This is a guy who banged out 213 hits with a .338/.380/.474 line last year, and he's under .300 OBA this year and bottom 5 in ISO.

OK, i've decided that I want Shin-Soo Choo, his .290/.400/.480 line, and his 30+ doubles batting leadoff for the Reds.
They want a team controlled major league ready player plus prospects. I would give up any combination of Mesoraco/Heisey/Stubbs plus whatever minor league players they want not named Billy Hamilton.

Mesoraco appeal will take around two weeks to be heard, so Reds are buying some time to figure out the roster moves. Hanigan & Meso are the only catchers on 40-man, so they will have to add another C to the 40-man roster, remove someone else, and then also option somebody from the 25-man to AAA to call up whatever C (Corky Miller or Dioner Navarro) they chose to bring up. Xavier Paul will likely be the one to go, unless there is an injury between then and now. If he doesn't have options, he'll have to clear waivers.
This suspension, because it's a catcher, is very problematic.Comment

Reds @Reds
Broxton added to roster, Redmond optioned, Mesoraco to 7-day concussion DL, Navarro promoted, Costanzo designated for assignment.

You get the feeling something special is brewing with this team. Think about this: they would have to lose seven in a row to have a .600 winning percentage without Votto.
Remember, the plan was to build for 2012 when Votto, Bruce, Cueto, Chapman, Stubbs, Alonso, Cozart, Leake, Bailey, Wood, Francisco, Frazier etc were supposed to be hitting their primes at around the same time. 2010 was ahead of schedule. This team is good, this team is young, this team is all locked up for the next 3 to 4 years. This is going to be fun.Comment

And now the Pirates fans are bitching about Chapman "headhunting" Cutch in the 9th. They think it was intentional
Yes, i'm sure Chapman threw at him on purpose, with two out in the 9th.

Think the #Pirates have some thoughts on McCutchen getting hit? Team lingered in the dugout for a while.Revenge
Gotta get revenge in more ways than one tomorrow night.
The Chapman plunk was uncalled for, though it’s obvious what the message was.
Let McDonald pound somebody in the back , and take an early seat.
Put Correira in and hope he makes the best of it.
Cocktails – The feeling is mutual. Let folks post what they want to.bethany miller @befani915
Reds fans need to realize Chapman could have killed someone if he hit them in the head. Cutch wouldn't be mad if it was an accident #PiratesJoe Lanza @JoeMLanza
@befani915 :Listen up, sweetie. Pitchers don't headhunt with two outs in the 9th during a key game. Also, those dishes won't do themselves.Comment

Cutch in the dugout after the game, and if you watch the highlights on MLB Network, he's repeatedly saying "FUCK THEM! FUCK THEM!".
These guys are nuts if they think he was hit on purpose, but i'm kinda hoping they throw at the Reds tomorrow, because a rivalry would be fun.Comment

Pirates fans are either really stupid, or really desperate for a goofy rallying point. More Pirates fans madness:
Ask Dusty Baker
The catcher didn’t call that pitch and Chapman didn’t do it on his own. IMO there is no doubt that Dusty being the old school asshole that he is ordered that pitch to send a message.
As far as it being unfair that someone else has to catch the hell for what Chapman did that’s just tough shit. If they have a problem they should take it up with Dusty Baker.
Getting hit is part of the game
headhunting the other team’s star is not. That was a bushleague move by Chapman. I’m not saying there’s gonna be a horse or a man on fire and I doubt anybody will get killed by a trident, but somebody on the Reds (either the leadoff hitter or one of the stars) is gonna take one in the back because Chapman went after Cutch.Yeah
Kind of like Chapman did to Cutch last night. At least Bruce will be on the lookout for it and can prepare to duck. To be VERY CLEAR, I do not want him to be hit in the head. A close call buzzer at chin level followed by a fastball to the rib cage would be fine though.
After what Baker ordered and Chapman did last night you are in no position to pass judgement on class. The fact that some of the Reds were unhappy about leads me to believe that at least a few of THEM think it was ordered.Comment

Harrison gets hit by a wicked 78 MPH Leake breaking ball, acts like a tough guy as he saunters down the line, and ends up getting his manager ejected.
Then this goofball Hughes throws an elbow into Navarro on a routine tag out.
Pirates are quite the half retarded, classy bunch.Comment
