I haven't seen this much joy from Reds nation in a long, long time. Even the Votto extension saw like 1% of the SABR dorks complain about years 10-12. This Willie Harris news is universal.

Mike Leake pitches for his job tomorrow versus Johan Santana.
If he gets bombed again, twitter and message boards should be fun when Jeff Francis gets the call up or Alfredo Simon heads to the rotation, while Chapman stays in the pen (where he belongs for the moment).Comment

How close is Masset and Bray to returning? Once they get their feet "arms" stable back in the league, is that when we see Chapman head towards the rotation? my opinion says yea, what about you two? (W2B and Rudi)

Bray is close. Like Rudi said, Masset not so much.
I dont think it would be wise to remove Chapman from the bullpen unless one of these things occur:
-Masset & Bray return and are pitching well
-Catastrophic injuries in the rotation
-Reds fall out of the race
...and the darkhorse
-Reds acquire a closer, Marshall assumes Chapman's roleComment

I knew a lot depends/depended on Masset and Bray..
I hope the injury bug has bitten and moved on from the Reds now
lets not talk about the race yet
How much room do we have to go spend/bring in another arm?

Supposedly not a lot.
But Castellini wants to win, so I suspect that if the Reds are a serious contender and there is a move that makes sense, he will spend that money and go over the budget.Comment

I'd rather keep giving Frazier a shot.
Lots of buzz around Donnie Joseph, who has 30 K's against 4 BB's in 20 IP, as a potential LH RP later this season, to help push Chapman to the rotation. Joseph is a forgotten prospect who might have been a late bloomer.Comment

Does Thom Brennaman ever work?
At least we get George Grande and Chris Welsh for this series, Kelch & Brantley are the shits.Comment
