    The Yu Darvish Tracking Thread

    Who am I, yu ask?

I'm a 6'5, 225 pound right handed pitching machine. I've got Iranian blood flowin' through these Japanese veins, and I'm coming to America to strike out all of your favorite players.

Oh yeah, and I'm also quite handsome.

Anyone else buying into the hype that he's going to be a really good starting pitcher? He has several seasons in the NPL that top the best year Daisuke was ever able to put up. His advanced numbers are nearly double any other Japanese import who has come across.

He's also a lot bigger than most Japanese pitchers (or people, in general... Japs are a short breed) at 6'5 220. I think he's gonna be a 200 inning a year horse who strikes out between 7 and 9 per nine. He probably walks a few too many guys this year as he narrows down his pitching repertoire and adjusts to a different ball, but I'm still projecting a 15 win, 180 K, 3.40 ERA out of him.

I expect an Anibal Sanchez type of year from him.

    Yu mad bro?

Definitely in the running for the new team name in the VSN pay league, if the owners decide to rebrand. We'll be huge in Japan and Iran.

So I assume he's your top pick in the draft this season?

He's the BPA. I've extrapolated the Yahoo point values and cross referenced them with this years ZIPS and Bill James projections. He's the BPA. He might even be a top 15 starter.

Head and shoulders above the Billingsley/Marcum group of pitchers that will be available in the re-draft.

Plus When Adam Dunn and Lo Mo goes baws this year........I shall laugh at you and Todd Helton.

Helton had a solid year last season. I just needed a warm body to get me through the year. Dunn for Helton is fine, I do regret giving away LoMo for free, even though my OF is crowded.
