    Old Hoss Radbourn Fantasy League?

    :olhoss:

Finally, the Old Hoss Radbourn Fantasy Base Ball season is upon us. AS the days lengthen our minds returns to America's pastime. To the smell of cut grass, the feel of dirt between our fingers and the sweet, soft squlorch of sphere meeting temple. Thanks to all have responded. Invitations to join the league will go out shortly.

If you have electronically mailed me you will recieve an invitation. All are welcome.

Each league will be a 20 team 5 x 5 rotisserie league. While the weekly pummeling offered by a head to head league is indeed inticing, the possibility that a team-mate may drop out or prove unreliable makes this option problematic.

The rosters will consist of on player per position, three starting pitchers, and a two man bench. , unless Yahoo! proves stubborn and does not allow this logical and manly permutation.

For pitching the catagories are: wins, complete games, innings pitched, shut outs, strike outs. Hit by pitch is , sadly, recorded by Yahoo! as a negtive statistic and thus we can not use it. I am not pleased.

The hitting catagories are: put outs, hits, strikeouts, runs batted in, batting average. I know little of hitting other than that it is a sad man's profession, and thus have used a modified version of H Chadwick's early box scores for inspiration.

This is awesome beyond words, from the lack of relief pitchers to the inclusion of PUT OUTS as a category, and the lack of HR's.
