Service time chart for top prospects

Timing the debuts of top prospects is essential for MLB teams. No club wants to expose a player to top …

There is a dirty rumor floating around Reds camp that the curious signing of C Dionner Navarro was made so that the Reds can stash Devin Mesoraco away until May, in order to squeeze an extra year of team control out of him.

See the chart for an interesting look at who might get screwed by their teams.

Don't think it matters with the Mets & Matt Harvey. Pending health/performance, I'm expecting him to potentially pop up in the bigs around June.

So, essentially, the Nats won't lose a year of Harper if he's called up to the big league club on June 1st. I can live with Super 2. I just don't want to give up that extra year of Harper coming in to his prime, ya know?
The king was shaken. He went up to the room over the gateway and wept.
As he went, he said: "O my son Absalom! My son, my son Absalom!
If only I had died instead of you
O Absalom, my son, my son!"
