There is a dirty rumor floating around Reds camp that the curious signing of C Dionner Navarro was made so that the Reds can stash Devin Mesoraco away until May, in order to squeeze an extra year of team control out of him.

So, essentially, the Nats won't lose a year of Harper if he's called up to the big league club on June 1st. I can live with Super 2. I just don't want to give up that extra year of Harper coming in to his prime, ya know?
