    Compare him to third basemen of the last 30-40 years. Chipper doesn't have 3000 hits (most likely not going to happen) and he doesn't have 500 homers. Those are the "standards" for automatic acceptance in to the HoF (for now, anyways. PEDs may change that).
    Well I was thinking along those lines, but only because sports writers are very often retarded. If he's not a first-ballot, that would be the reason why. But then, as retarded as sports writers are, they would ignore those numbers that they arbitrarily picked and put him in anyways because of the fact that Chipper is and always has been an awesome dude. He's like the perfect baseball player to build a team around. Great hitter? Check. Non-controversial? Check. Awesome nickname? Got it.
