In his first start of the season Greinke looked more dominant then Ricky Bobby on a racecar track. Greinke lasted seven shutout innings, on only 91 pitches. He had seven strikeouts, and allowed only four hits and no walks. Early in the game it seemed, like Greinke may have been working on a perfect game, as he needed only 41 pitches to get the first twelve outs. However Aramis Ramirez's defensive incompetence resulted in Greinke needing to throw more pitches then needed, as three of the four hits should have been easy outs. The only true hit was a line drive to shallow center field. The Cardinals only had two fly outs. Nothing else left the infield!
