    Giants sign Bumgarner to 5-year extension

    @MLB
    BREAKING: @SFGiants sign LHP Madison Bumgarner to 5-year extension with club/vesting option for 2018 and club option for 2019.

    so now they have Cain and Bumgarner locked up.

    Looking more and more likely they will let timmy walk or trade him.

    Stupid. Why would they lock up one of their best young pitchers long term? Don't get it at all.

      called this.

      from other timmy thread

      for real. hit that now! shortest start in his career. starting to feel good we locked up cain and not him. wouldn't surprise me if the giants either A. looked to trade him this year or B. let him go after next, and lock up mad bum long term
      great move from the organization with the way timmy's looking

          I understood it that Lincecum is the one who wanted 2 years. The team would've gone for more but he "doesn't think that far into the future" or something. Either way, their front office is being smart.

            I know that's the word but I can't believe it. If the were throwing say 5 years 125 mil at him, I can't see him passing that up for a 2 year contract.
