      Bryce Harper batting third tonight

Only 3 other 19 year olds have hit third since 1980

BJ Upton, Andruw Jones, Ken Griffey Jr
The king was shaken. He went up to the room over the gateway and wept.
As he went, he said: "O my son Absalom! My son, my son Absalom!
If only I had died instead of you
O Absalom, my son, my son!"

Marmol is fucking putrid, but I bet Sveum trots his ass back out there again the next save opp. It's unexplainable how Marmol has kept his job all these years.

Oh hum ... another RBI double for Harper tonight. Give the Nats the lead. Nothing to see here :needharpersmilie:

His velocity and the fact that everyone is close-minded about the closer role:verlander:

Also, any one else noticing that Erik Bedard is off to a quietly good start this year? Posting a 2.64 ERA and won his game today, posting 11 strikeouts and had seven in a row. Great to see him off to a good start.

The Royals got their first home win of the season tonight.

There was a beautiful fireworks display.

Dodgers signed Bobby Abreu, who is currently with the team in Chicago, and activated recovering coke-head Ronald Belisario. To make room, Mike MacDougal was DFA'd and Justin Sellers was sent to the minors. I would've preferred to keep Sellers around and DFA Adam Kennedy instead, but Sellers has options and I think that Colletti wants to give Kennedy a longer look.

I really hope Belisario does well, but if he doesn't it is worth it having him here just to get MacDougal out of here.

If this is any indication the lack of intelligence in my fantasy league, one of my friends [who thinks he is an avid baseball fan and knowledgeable] dropped Bryce Harper about 4 days ago [after he had been called up mind you]. So I had to pick him up...I got him, and received a text from my friend today: "Bryce Harper is not going to be that good, he was only hitting .200 in AAA].

Give it time and he will at some point. All young players do.

I thought he would struggle early. He has everywhere else

Did Charlie Manuel just get run for arguing a check swing?
