amazing to see the nnames being talked about in a potential deal for randy...

Cruz turned out not to be much, while Green had a much more storied career...

Mariano, nuff said...Pettitte would have been a very good consolation prize...

Been a terrible year for closers: Mo, Madson, Wilson, Soria out for season; Bailey, Farnsworth, Storen out indefinitely; Bell tanking

Don't forget Marmol, who may have FINALLY lost his job after today's latest debacle.

          Girardi making sure
The king was shaken. He went up to the room over the gateway and wept.
As he went, he said: "O my son Absalom! My son, my son Absalom!
If only I had died instead of you
O Absalom, my son, my son!"

Really sucks if this is the end. So many great memories of Mo, even the young guys just getting into baseball usually get the rundown on how great this guy has been and understand his place in history.

With that said they still should be fine in the 8th and 9th with Robertson and Soriano. Their biggest issue is starting pitching. Gonna have to score about 5 runs a game in order to counter their starters. :grandyman::gayrod:

A year off, he may want to come back for 2-3 more years. That would be great. Of all the Yankees to hate, it's hard to dislike Rivera off the field.

Rivera is a freak, coming back for October wouldn't even surprise me. With that said, I think the Yankees bullpen will be alright without him. Robertson has been excellent, Soriano is a quality set-up man, Hughes will be moved to the pen eventually, they'll probably call up Betances at some point. They'll be fine.

I just say no chance because it would mean EVERYTHING possible going right for him in his recovery/rehab. Considering he's 42 years old, it's safe to assume his body will not recover with the lowest possible recovery time for a torn acl (about 5 months) plus, he's also coming back from a partially torn meniscus.
