    We out-Cubbed the Cubs. Embarrassing.

1B Yonder Alonso is not too happy with the Phillie Phanatic. The Padres rookie was running onto the field Saturday for pregame warm-ups when the Phanatic's ATV came within a foot of hitting Alonso. "I didn't see him coming and he was driving way too fast," said Alonso. "I was moving around the kids' choir getting ready to sing the National Anthem when he flew past me on his ATV. I would have sued him."

No, he's done that at least twice and been burned. He may have heat, but its as straight as you can throw. Eventually, the hitters catch up.

The king was shaken. He went up to the room over the gateway and wept.
As he went, he said: "O my son Absalom! My son, my son Absalom!

My A's are continuing to surprise me each week. Shutout the struggling Angels 5-0 in Anaheim tonight. Still chugging along around .500 and i'll take it. They were expected to be a basement team early in the season. Granted it is still a long season and could finish the season with a bad record, but right now are proving everyone wrong.

If they can get through this month at .500, i'll be happy, this month is a tough one. Still have 4 more games with the Angels this month(1 in Anaheim, 3 in Oak) 2 with the Rangers in Texas, a series with the Yankees in Oakland, a 3 game series with the Giants in SF and a 3 game series in Minnesota with the Twinkies

            Furcal 6, Schumaker 8, Holliday 7, Craig 9, Berkman 3, Molina 2, Carpenter 5, Greene 4, Lohse 1

Apparently Matheny wants to get swept. That line-up...yuck.

e: Jay to the DL with shoulder soreness, Robinson comes back up.

Since Jay is out, I at least want to see Craig or Beltran play CF at least once just so the Cards can trot out a lineup of Furcal, Beltran, Holliday, Craig, Berkman, Freese, Molina, and 2B. Yikes!

I want that as well, but their knee issues scare me.

That was a much-needed win today. Lohse needs to be sharper and the bullpen needs to hold down a lead when they get it.

It would be a bitch move not to start Craig everyday.

The Padres of all teams get to Strasburg and chase him after 4 innings:verlander:

Man-Ram about to start at AAA. No one outside (and maybe not even) Oakland really cares. LOL at the A's putting together "special ticket packages."

Someone put Icy Hot in Strasburg's undergarments? WTF?!

As if 1st inn wasn't strange enough for Strasburg, Davey also said he got "hot stuff in the wrong place." Strasburg wouldn't talk about it.

The insinuation from Davey: Somebody put something like Icy-Hot on Strasburg in a place it shouldn't have been before game.

Asking around, there's no way it was a prank on Strasburg. No one in there is that dumb. Strasburg seemed miffed Davey brought it up.

Strasburg, when asked about "hot stuff": "You know, I'm going to keep that in the clubhouse."

Seems as good as any reason as to why he sucked so much today
