I don't think Greinke is moved unless the Brewers continue down the path they are on. They really need to remain competitive before you can count this move out but they are already 9 games below .500 and they really only have a few people playing well right now.

Dempster is as good as gone. Theo isn't an idiot and he won't sit on his hands like past Cubs GMs to make a move for the future.

Seeing Youk in another uni will be weird but I don't doubt it happens. In a perfect world he would be sent to Oakland for the missing Moneyball piece.

Wandy in that new Miami park would be interesting, and make the Marlins a bit stronger. Kansas City pulling the trigger would be something new too, since they always seem to be sending people out instead of bringing them in.

Morneau in Toronto would be scary. They missed out on the other Canadian 1st baseman they wanted in Votto, but Morneau when healthy is still solid and he's been showing that in limited time this year.

There's never a guarantee. Proven bats seem to be becoming more and more scarce, and when you have a surplus - it's wise to spend it wisely. Zach Lee is probably the best arm down there, but it's not like he's going to be right-handed Kershaw when he comes up. Scouts see him as a number 3 starter. Eovaldi much the same. Then there's Withrow, Reed, Fife, De La Rosa, etc... Buncha good arms. Trading one for a proven now commidity (a power hitting, plus-defensive 1B/3B) would not be inadvisable.
I think Youkilis is only a proven bat if he can start hitting again. Otherwise he becomes a slow, 15 - 20 homerun threat, low average, average to below average defensive third baseman. Though his OBP would probably remain high due to his walk rate.

I mean, thats not bad ... but it isn't anything I'd want to give up a lot for. The Dodgers could just as easily get in to trade talks for Adam Laroche or Edwin Encarnación

What I mean is, there was a pretty noticeable decline in his ability the last couple of years. Also walking at a far lower rate than years prior, albeit in limited at bats. If that was due to injury and he can return to the Youker of old, then by all means, pull the trigger and make a run. On the other hand, if he is continuing to decline due to age (or he isn't really healthy) how much are willing to give up for .243/.316/.400 and average defense at third?
