San Francisco hit TWO HR's last night at home, one coming from their pitcher Bumgarner.

They hit more HRs yesterday than their last 22 home games COMBINED. They had 1 HR in their last 22 home games coming into last night. That's crazy.

Some choice Fredi quotes on last night's loss, and his mismanagement of Kris Medlen, who is now stretching out in AAA Gwinnett despite us already having six other capable starters and no capable relievers other than Kimbrel.

Were you giving Minor one baserunner before removing in 8th?

      “Yeah.
WTF?!?!! Minor was cruising, and you decide before the inning even starts to remove him no matter what after one baserunner? He had already gotten an out in the inning and Jeter hit weak grounder through the hole. With a lefty coming up next let the kid pitch with a 4 run lead. Why shit your britches after he allows just his *fifth* hit on a seeing-eye single?

On having just talking about Venters before the game, about how he was showing good signs

“It’s always the same thing, right? We talk about somebody good, and then, you know. Maybe that first ground ball Granderson hits, it goes through the hole, maybe if it’s hit at somebody it’s a different ballgame. But if, should have and could have, you can’t get those in this game. We’ve still got to get a couple outs there and then hand the ball over to Kimbrel and it just didn’t happen.”

Give it to Kimbrel to face A-Rod with the bases loaded.

On Medlen’s outing tonight, what it means, etc.

“We can talk about that tomorrow. I haven’t even really checked. Let’s not take anything away from Mikey today. He did a terrific job.”

Part of discussion will be whether to use Medlen as starter or reliever?

“Let’s discuss that tomorrow. We haven’t even discussed that. Yeah, he could … whatever.”
Guy doesn't even have a clue what he's doing, and two talented young pitchers are left twisting in the wind. Terrific.

Sounds like your jimmies are rustled, Nahste
The king was shaken. He went up to the room over the gateway and wept.
As he went, he said: "O my son Absalom! My son, my son Absalom!
If only I had died instead of you
O Absalom, my son, my son!"

Well Fredi costs us 3-4 games a year, and I get like this for a day or two. Nothing a three game win streak can't fix.

Didn't someone here claim that the Bautista extension would go down as one of the worst deals in baseball?

I hate Tyler Moore but he's killing it today. Need Strausburg and the bullpen to close it out now

It was probably Nahste, because every extension signed is a bad signing according to him.

Serious question to Cubs fans. Why doesn't Campana start every day? He leads the league in SB [21 out of 24 attempts] and seems to be a decent, scrappy ball player. His .280 average in 118 AB is not awful either. I don't get it.

Really? Why? Guy is a slugger. I've wanted him to get more playing time for a while not. I have no idea what Nady is even on the team, let alone starting.

EDIT - Why are the Jays playing a game at 12:30 EDT if they (and the Nats) have an off day tomorrow?

                            B/c he kind of sucks.

He doesn't get on base for a very high percentage and in a lineup that needs base runners and pop..he provides neither. Plus Soriano has been swinging the bat well, so has De jesus. Since his call up though he has started 27 of the 38 games he has appeared in. He wasn't up to start the year because the Cubs hadn't traded Byrd yet.

I hate Tyler Moore as an outfielder. I should have made that clear

I'm down with him at first. Especially if he can hit like this.

Oh and Stephen Strasburg is the first pitcher in baseball to get to 100 strikeouts in 2012
