Jays sign Encarnacion to 3yr - 27M Deal

The Toronto Blue Jays signed first baseman Edwin Encarnacion to a three-year, $27 million contract on Thursday.

The deal runs through the 2015 season and includes an option year for 2016 worth $10 million.

The 29-year-old is among the American League leaders with 23 home runs and 58 RBI's. He is batting .295 and is fifth in the league with a .595 slugging percentage.

Interesting, doesn't seem like a bad move at all, very affordable even if there is some regression ahead.

He is a guy that I never thought would amount to much after watching him come up with the Reds years ago. Glad he's figured things out and found his niche playing 1B/DH. Dude was a disaster at 3B.
