I actually love this (well, like it I guess, can't love Guthrie) for Royals. Sanchez is atrocious, walks more than he K's which is astounding for anybody let alone a veteran, and Guthrie can be serviceable away from Colorado on a staff where Bruce Chen and Luis Mendoza are the aces.

I was hoping the Orioles would be able to claim Sanchez, but two pending FA starters who are struggling isn't a bad deal. The Royals could possibly showcase Guthrie for a few starts and move him in August. Not sure about Colorado's interest in this move.

Guthrie was pitching like shit and was not fitting in with the manager.

Change of scenery deal for both sides.

Yes, but the Rockies are below .400, why trade for another struggling vet who will be a FA at years end?

He has more upside, by like .01% ... and at this rate he'll be more than affordable to re-sign.

Nothing more than swap of two terrible pitchers.
