    Good move for Pirates, they had a surplus in bullpen guys and while Snider has been kind of iffy over multiple chances to win an everyday job, he is just 24 and even if he never figures it out he still represents an upgrade for a club as offensively challenged as Pittsburgh.

      SOLID BASEBALL TRADE

      I figured with the expanded playoffs, we would see more of these. Both teams are very much alive, and helping each other with this trade.

      Interesting that the Pirates turned down Lincoln for Victorino. And it looks like Joel Hanrahan will be staying put.

              They have lost 4/5 of their pitching staff and the other 1/5 is Henderson Alvarez. They are 24-28 since June 1. There are six teams ahead of them in the wild card standings, including every other team in their division. They have a playoff probability of 14% right now.

              I might even give 'Pac better odds.
