Bummer. Don't see how the Giants will do well without him.

        How disappointing.

This has been rumored for weeks.

I don't like the back alley negotiations that go on when there is a positive test in baseball. Same shit with Braun, until it got leaked. Fuck appeals, fuck these guys, if they fail, suspend them immediately, let them appeal while they are suspended if they so choose.

It isn't fair that Braun played this year, and it isn't fair that Melky played all of this time when he should have been gone. Edinson Volquez was allowed to serve his 50 games while on the DL following Tommy John surgery. I mean, wtf??

It's always been the issue with MLB and drug testing, it's almost as if THEY don't see it as a big deal but are forced to do it, so they do it half assed. It should be script and it's not, it's fly by night.

"My positive test was the result of my use of a substance I should not have used. I accept my suspension under the Joint Drug Program and will try to move on with my life. I am deeply sorry for my mistake and I apologize to my teammates, to the San Francisco Giants organization and to the fans for letting them down."
                At least he's owning it.

Waiting for the report that AJ Pierzynski is on something. Obviously I'd hate for that to happen, but I've watched baseball and specifically him long enough to know something is weird.

I think they rationalize it as 50 games without pay. So they're hurting financially even if they don't make it on the field. I'm not agreeing with MLB or the MLBPA on this, just suggesting that this might be their thinking.

SAN FRANCISCO, CA – The Giants issued the following statement regarding the suspension of Melky Cabrera:

"We were extremely disappointed to learn of the suspension of Melky Cabrera for violating Major League Baseball's Joint Drug Prevention & Treatment Program. We fully support Major League Baseball's policy and its efforts to eliminate performance enhancing drugs from our game. Per the protocol outline by Major League Baseball's collective bargaining agreement, the Giants will not comment further on this matter.

Kudos to him for doing that. I tend to have a little more respect when guys own up to it immediately and don't try to bullshit the public. Granted he still cheated and that sucks, but atleast he's not being a little jew bitch about it [Braun].

however....FUCK YOU MELKY. He has carried my fantasy baseball team all season, and now I will not have him anymore....fuck fuck fuck.

Can he play in the playoffs if the giants make it in, they have 45 games left?
