(Only New Yorkers will "get" this, but whatever)

Caller: "Mike, would you like the Yankees to play the Reds in the World Series, so we can get some revenge?"

Mike: "It was fowty yeahs ago. I've kinda gotten over it. I mean c'mon, i'd love to take anotha crack at Pete Rose, but jeez, I got nothin against Brandon Phillips."

                Roids?
The king was shaken. He went up to the room over the gateway and wept.
As he went, he said: "O my son Absalom! My son, my son Absalom!
If only I had died instead of you
O Absalom, my son, my son!"

Dan Duquette made some similar moves pulling some guys off the scrap heaps, and making a solid trade or two. The difference between the two is that Duquette's had just one season to change things, meanwhile, Colletti still hasn't made up for some idiocy in the past and could still be without a job next spring. Though I will say this, when you spend the money the Angels did to bring in Wilson and Pujols, your GM deserves little credit for that. That is all on the owner approving the money and delivering the sales pitch. I do think Dipoto has a bright future in the league, but lets see how he restocks the Angels farm, because we all know it needs it.

Pretty lame start from Leake. Anytime your offense gets 5 runs in 5 innings off Halladay you gotta pitch better. Couldn't keep the lead or even last 5 innings.

Bruce Harper again slammed and broke his bat next to home plate after K'ing in the 13th. Fag.

Nats win a game without hitting the ball out of the infield? SHOCKING!

Javy Guerra sent down, Rubby De La Rosa called up.

Awesome. De La Rosa is a monster, it's amazing to see him back after Tommy John and the reports say that he can still hit 100 on the gun. He'll play a releiver role because there is not enough time left in the season to stretch him out into starting. Hopefully he plays as good as his potential and nails a rotation spot next season.
