    The Jim Tracy Thread

After having an indefinite handshake agreement to stay with the Colorado Rockies as long as he desired, Jim Tracy has stepped down as the club's manager.

Looks like the infamous 4-man, 75 pitch limit plan came from above. Tracy is painted here as the passive company man who simply had enough. He left on his own and was not asked to quit.

Good stuff, fair piece, spreads the blame.

Not even Angelos micro-managed the team like that at his worst point. Feel sorry for Tracy having to deal with those things coming down from above. For one player, like the Nats and Strasburg, I understand it, but to essentially dictate how to run half of the team (the pitchers) that is ridiculous.

I used to see him at church when he was managing the Dodgers.

He's a bad game manager, we've had our share of laughs at his expense this season, but I had no idea the wacky 4-man rotation was a front office directive. Give Tracy credit. He took a pounding from all sides because of that and owned it like it was his own.

Of course, you want to get to the failed starting pitchers as soon as and as much as possible.

Honestly if the owners wanted to try something new they should've tried starting with the bullpen guys and then going to the starters or just going with guys as the situation dictates. This whole system was just really weird.
