      I realize he's not the same guy he used to be but I hate seeing other teams in the NL East improve

          He'll be something of a force in that line-up but his fielding at third will be atrocious. Still, if I didn't have a franchise guy at the hot corner, he'll be good for a 1-year guy.

              Is this in comparison to the black hole of suckage named Ryan Howard? Michael Young is not a good baseball player.

                  Young was bad last year and appears to be shot as he closes in on 37, but he's on year removed from a 200+ hit, .330+ season, so let's be careful before we bury the body.

                                      Not a good deal. Phillies need to get younger, and Young doesn't do that. They are also putting up a pretty poor infield defense. Not a huge fan of this deal at all, even for a one year deal, and even if Young improves some over last year.
