Choo to Cincinnati, Gregorius to Arizona, Bauer to Cleveland

@DKnobler Reds deep in talks on deal to acquire Shin-soo Choo from Indians for Stubbs and Gregorius. http://cbsprt.co/UfMpzf
Would play Choo in CF. I kind of wanted the Braves to acquire Choo, he's a damn good option for any team looking to fill out its OF.

If all it takes is Stubbs & Gregorius, then I have no idea why this hasn't already been done. It's a no brainer.

No reason for Cozart & Gregorius to both be on this team, move one of them to get better.

The Reds and Indians are deep in talks on a trade that would send Shin-Soo Choo to Cincinnati.

The Indians would receive center fielder Drew Stubbs and shortstop Didi Gregorius in return. The Reds are expected to receive another player in addition to Choo.

The Reds plan to use Choo in center field and as their leadoff man.
Again, how is this not completed yet??

Choo in CF would be ugly.

On a regulation sized field, maybe. I could see his UZR being passable in that bandbox though.

Sounds like the Reds are trying to get something else coming back with Choo, thus the hold up. Zeroing in on what should end up as a 2-for-2 swap.

              don't care

Small outfield in Cincy will help, plus if he's a total disaster, they've got Heisey as the LIDR, and Choo would slide to LF in the 7th inning.

Choo/Phillips in front of Votto & Bruce instead of Stubbs/Cozart is a gigantic difference. Combined OBA for Stubbs/Cozart was around .550, Choo/Phillips was .700.

Sounds like a managerial issue more than a roster one.

Hanigan should have been batting second, I banged that drum all year. Cozart or Stubbs kinda had to leadoff in any scenario due to the rest of the pieces.

Acquiring Choo removes all Dusty lineup nonsense and pretty much forces him to go Choo/Phillips/Votto/Ludwick/Bruce/Frazier/C or SS/C or SS/P.

Choo is on his walk year so this allows Hamilton to spend one full year in AAA, too. It makes too much sense to not do this.

EDIT - that lineup is like the Dusty wet dream, L/R/L/R/L/R until the bottom, I think he just had another heart attack.

Wheels turning, could be an interesting day.

Another option would be playing Jay in CF.

Choo: 10 games/83 innings in CF. Bruce: 35 games/285 innings in CF

Either way, I don't really care. This makes our lineup so awesome.

Yeah, I don't care either, the team is strong at every other defensive position aside from 3B where Frazier is average. I can live with below average CF for the offensive trade off.

Which is the smart thing to do given the Reds home field and the offensive potential and upside of Choo.
