MLB to Implement Random In-Season Blood Tests

    Selig will announce this shortly.

Beginning this season, MLB for the first time will have every player tested at least 1 time during the 162-game season. They will be done randomly and test for growth hormone and they will record the testosterone-to-epitestosterone ratios, too. The point there is too keep an active profile for each player.

Punishments for a positive test are the same as previous penalties: 50 games for 1st suspension, 100 games for 2nd and a total ban for a 3rd failure.

guess all the players will be cheating when they are up in Toronto, unless there's some loophole that bypasses Canadian law.

or maybe the Jays will be cheating during some extended home stands

Can't wait for writers with no understanding of how blood testing works, what HGH is, or what baselines are, to opine on this and misinform the public.
