    Jair Jurrjens Sign With Orioles

    Rotoworld

Jon Heyman of CBSSports.com reports that the Orioles have signed Jair Jurrjens to a one-year, $1.5 million contract.

The total value could be pushed up to $4 million if Jurrjens reaches all of his incentives. The right-hander is coming off a brutal 6.89 ERA and 1.86 WHIP across 48 1/3 innings in 2012, as he hasn't been the same pitcher over the last year and a half due to a nagging knee injury. If Jurrjens can remain healthy, though, he could wind up being a nice back-end starter for the O's.

Low risk, high reward, can't really complain about this move in the end. Though I think this is a sign that a younger pitcher is going to get moved for Jason Kubel soon, which is what I don't want to see. At least this isn't costing us

Very good move for the O's in my opinion. Jurrjens had 2 very good seasons a couple years back, but has slacked off the last couple of seasons. I'm not personally expecting him to return to his early form from a few years back, but if he does they just picked up a major steal.
