Well it would be a horrible signing. So that's why I want the Angels to do it.

Considering the loss of a first round pick, I think the most money I'd be comfortable giving Lohse is 3 years/25 million, preferably front loaded. And even then The thought of Lohse making 30 starts in 2015 for my team makes me queasy.

The draft is in June... I wonder if he has to wait that long. Honestly that doesn't sound like the end of the world. He can still be kind of expensive - especially if a rich team has injuries.

        Kyle Lohse Sweepstakes June 2013!

There will be teams shopping for rotational depth in a few weeks. But there will also be some cheaper guys who get cut by teams re-entering the market at that point who will limit potential Lohse suitors.

Also, the Dodgers will likely trade one or two guys because they have 9 starters right now. So guys like Ted Lilly & Aaron Harang can probably come cheap for a low ceiling prospect or two, and if somebody wants to cough up a decent prospect i'm sure they'd part with Billingsley.

Yep, Braves will be in the Lilly/Capuano/Harang market if any one gets injured or Teheran falls on his face.

Absolutely. All three of those are the prime candidates to go (along with Capuano). The Dodgers would definitely eat contracts for better prospects as well.

                    Two pieces of information today:
                    * Scott Boras and Kyle Lohse are still asking for a three year deal, with a high average salary.
                    * Brewers and Orioles were scouting Aaron Harang today.

I'm not crazy, about Aaron Harang. Especially with the terrible BB/9 numbers he put up in 2012. But I'd still rather have him on a 1 year 9 million deal, then meet the crazy demand for Lohse. This is assuming that Harang could be had for basically nothing. But preferably the Brewers will acquire neither player.

Aaron Harang can be had for no money if the prospects are good enough.

I'd rather pay the money. I guess it depends on what you call a good prospect, but the Brewers system is too thin to give up anything of actual value.

Indians seem like a great spot since they'd only be losing a 3rd, too much money?

                            Too overrated of a pitcher.

That's what everyone's said the last two years.

Lohse signs by Tuesday. (Though I hope not). “@bamTVnews: @karabellespn Who steps in for your Phils for Halladay if he's hurt?”
