Let's face it, shit's gonna get weird at many points this season. We'll have interleague every day, and that is going to lead to some bizarre match ups at random times.
For instance ...
- The REDS ... aka the senior circuit's oldest franchise, the team which for years traditionally opened the MLB season at home in a ceremonious occasion, will host some fly-by-night 1960s expansion team from the AL to start the season. A travesty.
- The Tigers will end the regular season with a three game stint in Miami. This would be notable if the Tigers were in a division that was at all competitive, but since they'll have the Central wrapped up by August it won't be as big of an issue. If they were in the thick of a pennant race, I don't think it would go over well in Detroit that they'll be forced to do without their DH over their final three games. Conversely, I don't think fans of teams from other (hypothetical, not real in this case) contending teams would surely take issue with the Tigers getting three freebies against a Marlins team which will have already waived the white flag long before the season's final series.
There are plenty of other examples, so post some.
